In 1975, the Yajima group at Tohoku University in Japan synthesized continuous SiC fibers with diameters of approximately 10 μm, using polycarbosilane as the precursor. Shortly after Japan’s successful development of SiC fibers, China recognized the material’s potential applications and initiated efforts to establish a technological R&D framework for silicon carbide fibers, embarking on a journey of independent innovation.
