Polycarbosilane (PCS) is a polymer with a Si–C backbone that can be converted into silicon carbide ceramics via high-temperature pyrolysis. It is primarily used as a precursor for silicon carbide fibers, ceramic matrix composites, and silicon carbide ceramics.
