Shincolon2159
Product Description
Shincolon‑I type continuous silicon carbide fibers are prepared using an electron-beam‑assisted air crosslinking technique. Owing to the carbon‑rich precursor and the substantial incorporation of oxygen during the crosslinking process, this fiber type contains approximately 15 wt% oxygen and a carbon-to-silicon ratio of about 1.35. It can be used continuously at temperatures below 1200°C in an oxygen‑free environment and below 1050°C in an oxygen‑containing atmosphere.
